The Summer Set

WHITE PAPER:

Stories For Monday is the long-awaited follow up to 2013’s Legendary, the bands best selling record which featured the single “Boomerang”, and their second release on Fearless Records. The album peaked at number 53 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and the band supported the album by touring the US multiple times in addition to Europe, Asia, and Australia. The band was also featured at the iHeart Radio Festival and played Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Summer Set released their fourth full-length record on April, 1st 2016, with the single “Figure Me Out” having released on January 22, 2016. The band has taken a very hands-on approach to the albums creation, largely producing and mixing it’s entirety in house. Some would call this the most personal album The Summer Set have ever created. Other standout singles include “Missin’ You” and “Jean Jacket”.

The Summer Set asked us to oversee the Creative Direction of the album artwork and associated collateral. We spent time with the band and the record, targeting in on possible concepts for the artwork that would showcase the mood of the songs as well as the maturation of the band. The band applied this same hands-on process by actively contributed to the Art Direction of the album once the concept was established, and we worked to secure the photographer, location, and background for the photo shoot. All the background were carefully curated individuals that all had a personal connection to the band, further highlighting the heavily personal connection to the album.
